Following his previous label releases Only For Kisses (2023) and Love Default (2025), US producer Cory Wells returns with ‘Con Funk’, a four-track EP that once again showcases his signature blend of soulful grooves, house textures and deep-rooted funk influences.
Opening with the title track, ‘Con Funk‘ rolls through slinky piano lines and plucked funk bass, creating an effortlessly cinematic atmosphere. ‘Forever’ follows with ghostly soul vocals, echoing toms and icy chords, delivering a hypnotic balance of warmth and space. On the flip, ‘Underground’ hits with a growling riff and weighty percussion, pairing driving rhythms with ethereal atmospherics. Closing the EP, ‘Livin’ Too Long’ rounds things off in style, its filtered cosmic guitar licks channelling a timeless seventies funk finale.
