Info:

Gramophonedzie, longtime compadre of label boss Phil Weeks and best known for his 2010 global hit ‘Why Don’t You’, lands on Robsoul with the long-overdue debut ‘MFF’.
The Serbian artist delivers three standout grooves, joined by a subtly reworked edit of the title track from Weeks. ‘MFF’ itself is a bass-heavy, tech-leaning bumper, driven by percolating rhythms and charged with flickers of static energy. Weeks steps in with his own edit, stripping back some of that electricity in favour of a more personal floor-focused version.. less voltage, more swing.
‘Mentally Shapin’’ shifts gears without losing momentum. Teaming up with Maat Bandy, Gramophonedzie builds a smoky, late-night atmosphere where clipped breaks and hazy keys frame Bandy’s delivery of classic Bahamadia lines. The result lands somewhere between hip-hop homage and club tool, with a loose, b-girl undercurrent running through it.
Closing things out, the dub of ‘Mentally Shapin’’ pares everything back to its skeletal form, letting the groove do the talking for those who prefer their dancefloors without vocals.
