Info:
Robsoul Recordings welcome Italian duo St. David & Wildbox to the label for the first time with ‘Poggiofunk Projekt Part 3’, dropping October 30th. The four-track EP marks the latest chapter in their ongoing series, following the first two volumes released on the legendary Henry Street Music.
For ‘Poggiofunk Projekt Part 3’, the pair dive deep into their record collections, tracing dusty grooves and forgotten gems through the back catalogues in search of inspiration. “We spent many late nights trawling through 70s funky soul classics, playing with samples, hardware and machines, and taking inspiration from labels like Crydamoure, Moody Recordings and Camouflage Records,” explains St. David. “Everything came together quite naturally.”
The result is a raw, hands-on collection shaped as much by the process as the records that inspired it. Samples are fed through machines, manipulated and reworked, with hardware-driven drums and grooves forming the foundation for each track. Rooted firmly in a 90s House aesthetic, the EP takes a more filtered and emotive route, bringing touches of disco-soul warmth and funk into the mix.
Across four cuts, ‘Poggiofunk Projekt Part 3’ captures the duo at their most instinctive: deep in the crates, hands on the machines and letting the groove lead the way.
