One of Robsoul’s most consistent contributors, Vincent Caira returns with the ‘House Strutz’ EP – a concise, floor-focused release that sharpens his groove-led sound while keeping things effortlessly fluid.
Hailing from Toronto, Caira has built a catalogue rooted in movement and feel. Following the playful energy of ‘Jet Fuel Gelato’, he shifts gears slightly here, laying down a set that feels totally grounded, functional, but no less infectious.
The title track ‘House Strutz’ sets the tone with a warm, rolling swagger, crisp drums, bright keys, and a vocal that lands with just the right amount of attitude. ‘Ground Rules’ follows with a hazier touch, its filtered textures and dusty rhythm carrying a low-slung, late-night pulse, anchored by a laid-back spoken vocal. Closing cut ‘Villa Loop’ leans into disco influences, weaving shimmering elements through tight percussion and spiralling snares to round things off with understated lift.
