Robb Swinga, celebrated DJ/producer and a cornerstone of New York City’s house music scene, makes a return to Robsoul Recordings with his new EP, “Bounce.” Marking his first release on the label since the 2019 hit “Molly’s Ride,” Swinga delivers three irresistible tracks packed with throwback vibes and signature grooves.
The EP’s title track, “Bounce,” sets the tone with its infectious nod to the 90s house era. Swinga reveals the nostalgic inspiration behind the track, recalling how it sparked a “flashback party moment” with DJ Skribble, the iconic NYC radio staple of the 90s and one half of production duo Street Slang.
“Yes, there was a bit of a story to the feel of this EP. Especially with the title track, ‘Bounce’ says Swinga. “It brought me back to the days when we would bang on our SP1200s and MPCs to make feel-good party records—something that Robsoul is known for.”
Following “Bounce,” Swinga keeps the energy alive with “WOW”—a filtered, melody-driven house jam with a hard-edged groove – and wraps the EP with “Back to Me,” a buoyant, keys-and-chords-filled banger that leaves listeners on a high note.
