Info:
Having impressed with his ‘Street Grooves’ EP back in April of last year, Hackney based Greek producer, Cockney Lama, makes a welcome return to the Robsoul camp with his latest collection of beats.
2011 saw the dawn of Cockney Lama the producer. After a decade spent cutting his teeth on the Greek and UK DJ circuits, he set about fusing his dancefloor and newly learnt studio knowledge to create his very own tracks and loops. A brace of releases on Monique immediately shot him into the spotlight, picking up support from many of the scenes biggest hitters. Releases for King Street Music and Robsoul Digital followed and today he returns to the fold with his first full release on Robsoul Recordingsā¦
‘Kid In Chicago’ leads the four track selection and from its opening bars lays the theme for the whole EP. Strong, tight and funky. The swing of the title track leads us straight into the whiplash groove of ‘Monin Monin’, and the bumpin bass of ‘Run To Save You’ trips us through to hypnotic and spiralling sounds of final cut ‘The Yoman’. A great selection of house tools from our wooly Londoner.
