A Robsoul crew member since the fall of 2013, Swiss producer Alci initially made an impact with his very first demos. Robsoul boss Phil Weeks was such a fan that he took all 10 tracks for the label and we were treated to the Early Beginnings series, a trio of eps that perfectly showcased Alci’s talent.
Very much influenced by the classic French house sound, Alci crafts strong, funky, sample-based tools for the dancefloor. Unknown Peaks, his fourth Robsoul release, is a sublime four track selection of smooth, deep and jackin’ numbers. The sun-drenched vibes of Criminal Droppin’ and bird calls of Castle lead the way before the looping drums of the title track and relentless rhythm of Drunken close out the release. As the title suggests, the pinnacle of Alci’s talents are unknown, but boy are we enjoying the learning process.
