Esteemed Chicagan Derrick Carter teams up with Red Nail for their debut on Phil Weeks’s excellent Robsoul imprint.

Derrick’s ‘Alternative Version’ of “People” is a feel good key ride, with slick percussion, a blurred bass, adjusted vocal impressions and an entrancing synth. Red Nail & Derrick’s “An Afterthought That Happened During A Night Drive On The Neural Net” wins prizes for title length and also musical content, thanks to clapped slippery percussion, a drunken quirky synth, madcap vocals and gutsy keys.
