Ander B swiftly follows up with his second EP in as many months for Robsoul, with the three track ‘El Monte’. June’s three-tracker ‘El Urban’ scored fans in Charles Webster, Terry Farley, Round Table Knights, Fish Go Deep and Mosca amongst others.
The producer, based on the Dominican Republic, draws in his musicon a rich variety of musical influences. From salsa, latin, jazz, soul and disco, the two releases for Robsoul have been put together to capture the feel of, in Ander’s words, “…a portrait of the urban third world, like el barrio and los callejones…”. The outcome is a fresh sounding package of dance floor orientated tunes.
Ander B describes himself as a “DJ, Producer and Live P.A. Artist” and he works on his MPC the same way a DJ plays a set, jamming for hours on end to produce a seamless live show. The hours spent hunched over his drum pads have clearly paid off in this, his second EP. In the future he is planning to move to Barcelona and continue to develop his live shows in Europe.
