Long-time Robsoul affiliates and even longer time mates, Paul Najera and Jr Quijada unite once again for a trio of thoroughbred house jams and it’s prime time jacking business as usual. The title track says it all: taking things back to the foundations and the essence of what this music is. Pure, unashamed funk and thick juicy grooves laid down in big swathes of filters.
The rest of the EP follows suit; ‘Ode To Paradise’ takes us right back to the garage with its bounding two note bassline and that classic vocal sample while the lads call up good friend Boys Don’t Disco for an emotional, swooning finale on ‘When You’re Gone’. Back to back to back bliss.
